Resumen

Efforts to reduce the gender gap in STEM are needed to achieve a state of ideality for men and women with equal conditions and opportunities to develop academically and professionally in STEM areas. This work revises using tools and methodologies to solve the complex and challenging problem of attracting women to STEM in higher education. Tools and methodologies such as lateral thinking, design thinking, and TRIZ represent fundamental pillars for developing gender inclusion strategies to increase participation and motivation of girls and young women in the fields are STEM. Creativity tools allow us to detect strategic opportunities and solve the problems that hinder the inclusion of women in STEM. Stakeholders can create practical solutions to break social and cultural paradigms and foster environments where women are empowered in the various fields of STEM. Promoting creativity tools within STEM’s educational, industrial, social, and scientific sectors is essential to reach and transform the thinking of generations, break gender stereotypes, and promote inclusive ecosystems.
