Resumen

This research aims to determine the perceptions and effects of a mindfulness-based stress reduction intervention of ten weekly sessions in 25 university education officials (academic and non-academic) during the Covid-19 pandemic. A mixed design was used, to explore the perception of participants about their participation in the workshop their practice of mindfulness, and changes in variables of quality of life, mental health, and self-pity. We found an increase in the perception of participants regarding their quality of life and general health, a decrease in stress levels, and an increase in their levels of self-pity on the general Neff scale (2003) and in the sub-dimensions of self-judgment and over-identification. Qualitative results show that the practice of mindfulness is perceived as a space of self-care that impacts on well-being.
