Resumen

A method to operate a cascaded 5-level inverter with faulty cells was presented. The method enabled to achieve a current 50% higher than the simplest alternative of balanced operation with one cell per phase. It was shown that the addition of contactor and the displacement in the reference voltages increased the reliability of the converters.
