N2 - The reuse of mining tailings contributes to minimizing the impact associated with the extraction of mineral resources. In this study, tailings were classified according to their mineralogy, and then 10% to 50% of the fine aggregate in the concrete was replaced by tailings. It was found a substantial enhancement in the compressive strength of concrete when incorporating mine tailings, increasing by 12% to 18%. The favourable outcomes can be attributed to the mineralogical compositions of the tailings. This innovative approach contributes to a noteworthy reduction in the environmental footprint associated with mining activities.
