Abstract
This article examines the notions of infamy and spectacle/show/performance in Eloy by Carlos Droguett, which allow to establish two lines of analysis arising from a dual confrontation. The first line comes from the tension between the criminal and power, and the second one from textual/verbatim word marks which match a rethoric of the image founded on visuality (luminance, shadow and visibility) and a critical discourse thematization of film as present in Droguett's novel.
