Abstract

We have used UVES (UV-Visual Echelle Spectrograph) at the VLT to obtain the integrated spectra of 22 globular clusters belonging to the nearby giant elliptical galaxy NGC 5128 (=Centaurus A). Using cross-correlation technique on these high resolution spectra we have determined accurate radial velocities and projected core velocity dispersions of individual globular clusters. Our targets are among the brightest members of the globular cluster system of NGC 5128 and their projected velocity dispersion values range from 5 to 30 km/s. We compare them with globular clusters in the Local Group galaxies.
