Abstract

The study evaluates the psychometric properties of the spanish version of the Short form-36 Health Survey (SF-36), in people with schizophrenia. The SF-36 inventory designed by the Medical Outcomes Study and the one validated by Alonso (1999) were used. With this purpose, a pilot application was carried out, showing that it was necessary to make some adaptations to the instrument. Then, the adapted instrument was applied in ninety nine person with schizophrenia from the Metropolitan Region. The program SPSS used for the statistical analysis showed that the behaviour of items allowed to apply it in a modified version.
