Torsion induces gravity

Abstract

The degrees of freedom of torsion are usually ignored in gravity. In this work it is shown that those degrees of freedom allow to obtain known solutions in higher dimensional theories of gravity which manifestly differ from Einstein theory. In particular 5 dimensional Schwarzschild solution in recover within Gauss Bonnet (Chern Simon) theory.
