Abstract
This writing seeks to analyze, from a critical perspective, the manner in which historiography has dealt with the issue of land property and the conflicts generated around this within the context of structural changes at a social and state level, taking into account the specific case of the Second Spanish Republic. This is carried out, considering the theoretical as well as the cognitive appreciation with which historians approach this subject, which lead them to assume binary and evolutionist explanatory patterns. Secondly, the empirical issues of these patterns are analyzed, recommending elementary principles for a possible improvement.
