Synthesis of new phenyldiiodoalkyl sulfones

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

A two-stage synthesis method has been developed to prepare phenyldiiodoalkyl sulfones. Unlike methods in the literature, isomers are not obtained and yield is better. In the first stage, iodoform reacted with thiophenol derivatives in order to generate the corresponding sulfides which, in the second stage, were oxidized with magnesium monoperphthalate (MMPP).
