Abstract

The aim of this work is to estimate the fractal dimension in fault images of two regions of Chile. Since these regions are rich with metal deposits, we think the fractal dimension could help to characterize them. The well-known box counting method has been used for estimating the fractality in small areas with dimensions of 10×20 km in the north of Chile.
