Abstract

In this part of the book noninvasive studies and methods for mineral exploration are proposed. The proposed methodologies consist in combining known techniques for recording data [deep seismic sounding, magneto acoustic emission (MAE), airborne gamma ray, drone, fault map, etc.] with mathematical or statistical techniques [empirical mode decomposition (EMD), fractal and multifractal analysis, statistical parameters] in order to extract features that make it possible to identify ore deposits. Various places in different countries have been explored, such as the Hoggar area (Algeria), Urals and Siberia (Russia), northern Chile (II and III regions), and northern Italy (Trentino Alto Adige).
