Abstract
The article explores the aesthetic form of the ruins as a poetics of time where opposing forces are articulated that configure a unique experience of human historicity. Guided by the indications of Martin Heidegger and Georg Simmel, he reflects on the aesthetic-existential value of the ruins and their subjective response in the feeling of nostalgia, as well as their importance for the recognition of the narrative unity of human existence.
