Abstract
The following paper analyzes the poematic representation of the Arauco War from Alonso de Ercilla under the light of the classical tradition. Specifically, it reviews and compares the catalogue of warriors of both poems, which conveys the importance of the homeric epic and its redefinition in Chile during the conquest.
