Abstract
The authors describe a computational tool developed as an aid for the design and socioeconomic assessment of bus lanes. The package, which is basically interactive and user-friendly, is composed of three sets of programs written in extended FORTRAN. These allow one to define the initial conditions of the problem, calibrate the road assignment simulation program SATURN, and evaluate the performance of alternative schemes in an iterative process that appears to be ideally suited for design purposes.
