Abstract
Objectives: To examine the changes in the quality of life of a group of older people participating in an adult day care center in Santiago, Chile. Methodology: Longitudinal study with two applications, one at admission and the other at the end of participation in the adult day care center, among 35 older people over 60 years belonging to the adult day care centers in Santiago, Chile. Quality of life was measured with the World Health Organization BREF instrument. Descriptive and analytical statistics were used for data analysis (t Student test). Results: This study showed a significant increase in quality of life (p < 0.05); older people reported better scores for quality of life after having participated in the interventions that the adult day care center has. Conclusions: Quality of life should be considered a key outcome when evaluating the results of interventions in adult day care center.
